In this photograph I see a whole life before me
How could I have ever imagined what the story would be?
At 17 with the whole world to play to
The passion of a dream and where it my lead you
Now open up your eyes boy and jump right in
We’re still lives and dreamers, wandering through the night
Looking for that someone to make it feel alright
I give a little bit more day by day and hope that maybe luck will pass my way
Chasing gold at the end of the rainbow
City life makes you harder than you ever thought you could be
Passing by people you never really see
I rarely look up to the sky anymore
Surrounded
I see lovers holding hands and children playing games
They’re lost in a circle of illusion
Like I photograph, I see
We’re sold on love and how to live
We reach out for salvation
Learn to visualize and come to some understanding
In this photograph I see a whole life before me

Here I am again, walking by the water’s edge
Feel my reflection in the wind
I listen to myself, don’t feel I’ve learned anything
I’ve got the same old questions in my head
Over and over, I knock myself, stand back up again
And I realise it doesn’t make much sense
That I try to anticipate everything that lies ahead
Even though I know it doesn’t matter
Save me from falling down again
Don’t think I can take it anymore
Save me I want to see the light ahead
Going to fly away on my angel’s wings
Living day by day, watch all my dreams pass away
As I feel the years going by me
I close the door and another opens in front of me
I take my life as it comes
Now love has come and gone
Followed me along the way
Don’t know if it’s made me stronger though
But I’ve been fortunate, to see inside another’s heart

It’s so quiet and so still, how a blanket of white gives me a youthful thrill
